Institutional Investment Manager's World of Fine Art Abstract Photographic Images
Lucy O'Laughlin has been in institutional real estate investment management and finance for over 30 years investing pension funds in high quality commercial real estate assets, but has continued to satiate her talented eye's ability to capture a unique and refreshing insight to the graphic and often striking essence of her abstract photographic images. Her creativity, imagination and design sense unite, commanding unusual, bold , exquisite, disciplined, non-literal images. The magic of her work evokes a response that bypasses the intellect and connects to a more primal, emotional, often sensual gut response. Her work exploits the ordinary -- distilling it to reveal the beauty in its essence.
Lucy O'Laughlin has won awards for her work and her images have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Australia and the US, and she has been represented by art dealers. She attended workshops with Ansel Adams, Minor White and National Geographic Photographer, David Heiser at the Center of the Eye Workshops in Aspen Colorado in the early 1970's. She went to boarding school and graduated from the Shipley School outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and received an AAS- Associate of Arts degree from Bennett College in Millbrook , New York, received her BFA - Bachelor of Fine Arts, from the University of Colorado in Boulder , and PMD Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School.
